I’ll be reviewing various yaoi’s (gay manga) and yuri’s (lesbian manga) on this blog. I hope to spread the fandom of this wicked awesome sweet genre and promote its availability to teens, as well as provide my insight as a teen and self-proclaimed otaku.

Quick Terminology:

• Fanfiction – prose written using characters and often the setting of an already-made story. Often contains romantic pairings that are not included in the original story. There’s some odd stuff out there, from Star Trek poetry to steamy lemon (sex) scenes featuring characters from various mangas.

• Otaku: Slang for a hardcore, obsessed anime/manga fan. Has a somewhat negative feel in Japan, though Americans and other foreigners often embrace the term as their own.
